Good God man cut the rav-duals and play the real thing.
Oh I am playing the Original Duals, I just don't have them all spelled out. For right now, my land structure is sloppy - no doubt - and plan on fine tuning it after I've actually played that deck a few times. Didn't see you posted so quickly Zombor. Oh, and Lance said that he isn't going to play Mask of the Mimic because "they all made fun of me at the last tournament for playing it." What a pansy. Thought you'd like that.

How about cryptic command? Blue based control loves it some cryptic command.
How about cryptic command? Blue based control loves it some cryptic command.
I thought about Cryptic Command - and actually had it in this deck - but thought Misdirection was a better fit. If I was to fit Cryptic Command in, what would you suggest I take out?
1.
Countermagic may be a little light, but I don't know how well your card drawing engines are working. Also, it seems like you can deal with permanents pretty well, so you might only need a few counters. Your off colors look solid, although I would suggest some moving around in blue. In that vein, you might want to consider: Jace Beleren Impulse Worldy Counsel Ophidian (I just love the 'phid. A bit of a soft spot, but I understand that not everyone loves it) Treachery/Dominate (former is awesome for almost everything. Latter owns Man-Lands) Compulsion (maybe with a Squee or two in Red, otherwise, forget it) Circular Logic (late game, certainly better than Evasive action, synergy with Compulsion) Scroll Rack Also, now that I look at it, you might need more sweepers. Pernicious Deed? Rout? Maybe a better win condition beyond just the 'tog and 'goyf and Enforcers. Maybe Guiltfeeder (is that what it's called?) or that trampling shroud artifact leviathan that the folks play in vintage. You could Tinker for him and everything. Sometimes I like floating a bunch of mana after an Obliterate in control decks, and then drop one of the aforementioned creatures afterwards (Guiltfeeder, 'Tog or any of the 'gofys, especially Terravore). Then sit behind FoW and Misdirection and just crunch. Just a bunch of thoughts.

I can almost assure you that Interdict < Stifle (but u seem to know that yourself. But stifle on early turn wastelands/strips is pure gold. People also tend to swear by Cryptic Command in theese kind of decks, but in my experience, the casting cost makes it a bit too clunky. Are you more satisfied with Misd. this far? Another Good sweeper is the new hybrid G/R-thing (with green deals three to the skie, red deals to the ground) för three mana. Thatäs kind of strong. Also some of the Planeswalkers (like Ajani Vengeant and to a lesser extent Chandra Nalaar) are good at holding the board.
2.
What about couterbalance? Granted you have to reveal the top card of your library, but with all the random casting cost spells you might be able to counter some things for cheap. I would also run thoughseize, and maybe traumatize. Taking things out of the other deck and making the other make decsions with fewer choices seems good. One question: Where the Balance? Control's not my thing, but I've watched Titan kick my ass with control for years and became used to seeing how it works.

Mike Sollymossy was in the store checking out our 5-color games one night, he sits down to play me and my turn 1 play is, land, lotus, crack for UUU, counterbalance, top, um.... Go!

Wow, thanks guys. Here are some thoughts...

@Radical: Control doesn't necessarily have to be Countermagic. I am just looking for ways to hold the board long enough to obtain a favorable game-state. And besides, with all the Tutors, Mystical Teachings, and card draw, I feel pretty good about finding a Counter when I need it.

- Jace is garbage. Sorry, but it's true.
- Impulse and Worldly Council are good - don't get me wrong - but all they do is replace themselves. I wanted to play cards that would net me more cards, like Fact or Fiction. The only reason why I play Ponder, Brainstorm, and Opt are because I love having that first turn spell or a way to easily filter out the top of my deck with a Divining Top.
- Ophidian... meh. I'd rather play Shadowmage Infiltrator to be honest or even Theiving Magpie (a personal favorite.)
- I do love me some Treachery but I try to shun away from devoting cards in my decks that deal only with creatures, especially since Combo is such a beast. It is always an option though. I'll think about it. :)
- Compulsion... hmm, interesting. Not sure how I feel about playing this. I would almost think I would rather play with Trade Routes or something. I'll definitely give it some thought.
- Circular Logic is good as a late-game beast. Would I even be better off trading Counterspell for this?
- Scroll Rack is so good but oh so fragile. It's also a larger version of Sensei's Divining Top in my eyes, which I already play 4 of.
- Only reason why I didn't want to run Deed was to not blow up my own stuff in a "powered deck." If I were to play anything as a sweeper, it would either have to be Damnation or Firsepout. Not sure which to lean towards though... Hell, Obliterate is not even that bad of an idea...
- Psychatog is a house. All it takes is a sinlge run-through and the opponent is dead. It's deadly. I even debated playing Shadow Rift for tech points just to make sure he connected. The Leviathon is good, and I debated playing it over Darksteel Colossus (which is my Tinker target of choice currently) but I may be going the way of the Vintage players and changing my tune too.

Thanks for the thoughts man.

@Jimmlepp: Yeah, Stifle is obviously better. I just thought it would be more fun and tech to play with Interdict. Also, Cryptic Command is really good, agreed, but I just hate the UUU of it's cost. For a point I used to run Dismiss just to spite Cryptic Command because I would normally always see "Counter-Draw" be the only options people would use. Bouncing permanents is fun and all, but it is only a stall tactic that doesn't actually solve much of anything.

@AngryChair: Counterbalance, Counterbalance... I've never been a big fan of this card, I won't lie. I think it relies too heavily on stacking your library in ways you otherwise would not want to. Yet again, it serves a solid purpose. I suppose I should quit being such a douche bag and play with it. In it goes.

At everyone else, keep the comments coming.

Well, I played a bunch of games and came to a couple of conclusions... 1.) I need more card draw. I definitely felt that for a control deck, I was always behind on cards. 2.) I need more threats. Inkwell Leviathan was a house and won me two games so I give credit to him. Mystic was mediocre and Psychatog was good, but definitely unable to swing through for the win like he normally does. 3.) I think I may switch my base over from Blue-Black to Blue-White. I play with a lot more white cards and this would also help me really thin out some cards in white to maybe become a little bit more versatile. Updated list probably tomorrow.

No lightning bolt? Foily ones from M10 if u dont have the betas/alphas.

Also, how has Path to Exile worked out for you? In type2 its really good ofc., but in 5 i've seen that the extra land stings! Its really a late game removal at a early game cost.

I'd rather path a tinkered DSC than plow it... But I run both plow and path

Path/plow are usually reserved for the severe threats that cheese cannot handle

Path shouldn't hurt because it shouldn't be cast too early unless your really on the ropes

Too much hate. Not enough counters, raw card draw, and business.

You want Loam and Crucible for the Mirror.

On a positive note, I like the way you're thinking with Plagierize.
