    The Eureka Deck
    Legal as of 03.06.10

Take my word that color minimums are represented. This deck sorts better when done by role.

    Eureka (8)

    4 Hypergenesis

    Cascade (44)
    4 Ardent Plea
    4 Bituminous Blast
    4 Bloodbraid Elf
    4 Captured Sunlight
    4 Demonic Dread
    4 Deny Reality
    4 Enigma Sphinx
    4 Enlisted Wurm
    4 Kathari Remnant
    4 Stormcaller's Boon
    4 Violent Outburst

    Big Stuff (100)
    4 Akroma, Angel of Wrath
    4 Akroma's Memorial

    4 Eternal Dragon
    4 Greater Gargadon
    4 Hellkite Overlord
    4 Hoverguard Sweepers
    4 Inkwell Leviathan
    4 Jungle Weaver
    4 Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund
    4 Krosan Tusker
    4 Mournwhelk
    4 Progenitus
    4 Razia, Boros Archangel
    4 Simic Sky Swallower
    4 Spirit of the Night
    4 Terastodon
    4 Thraximundar
    4 Thunder Dragon
    4 Woodfall Primus

    Lands (98)

    1 Verdant Catacombs

    4 Bayou
    4 Plateau
    4 Savannah
    4 Scrubland
    4 Taiga
    4 Tropical Island
    4 Tundra

    4 Ancient Spring
    4 Geothermal Crevice
    4 Irrigation Ditch
    4 Sulfur Vent
    4 Tinder Farm

    4 Ancient Tomb
    4 City of Traitors
    4 Crystal Vein

    4 Mountain
    4 Swamp
    4 Island
    2 Forest

So, what 50 cards should I add to this 250 decklist to make it legal for 300?

Copy/pasted the list to this thread for ease.

    Thoughts so far:

    -4 Enigma Sphinx
    +4 Netherborn Phalanx
    +4 Ethereal Usher
    +4 Beseech the Queen
    +4 Æthersnipe
    +4 Slice and Dice
+4 Sphinx of the Steel Wind
    +4 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
    +4 Gaea's Revenge
    +4 Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre
    +4 It That Betrays
    +4 Gemstone Mine
    +4 City of Brass
    +4 Mystifying Maze
    +1 Forest
    +1 Plains

I'm 95% sure that's now 300 cards with the correct color balance, but I could very well be wrong.

Take the duals out and play it for ante.

I'm not going to play for ante since I cannot strategically play Contract from Below.

That, and you're a pussy. What do you mean "strategically play Contract from Below?" I play it whenever my strategy calls for drawing 7 cards. The fact that it will add another card to my side of the ante adds an additional element of strategy to it, so one might say you actually meant you can't "blindly" play contract.

I'd rather cascade into Hypergenesis and, y'know, attempt to win the game instead.

Oh THAT'S what you meant by "I cannot strategically play contract from below." Ambiguity is not your friend.

This actually seems like it could be a pretty fun deck.

Great concept. How does thing fare as far as 250 goes? Does it win a decent amount of the time or just roll over and die to control?

    Overall, pretty cool.

The only player that piloted it (arcanus) ran over players with it during its premiere, then retired it in fear that it would scare away new players. Counterspells are less of an issue than something like global sweepers during a slow hand, although sometimes it just gets the undeniable nuts and laughs them away too.

That does seem like a pretty fun @$$ deck, and I usually don;t dig competative builds for ANY format. Gotta love me some Eureka shenanigans. just sad that I only have 1 Eureka. Maybe someday I will get another 3 and can play crazy stuff like this too :D

I thought the Eurekas were sort of redundant anyway... Hypergenesis should be all you need.

I think the green requirements are high enough that you could just do a -4 Eureka +4 Blightsteel Colossus at this point.

Although he hasn't been officially spoiled, Chancellor of the Tangle is an auto-include. Also, many of the Praetors have wicked enough abilities to make the cut.

Apologies if this breaks some sort of spoiler rule, but two cards have been spoiled that affect the core of the deck:

    Etherium-Horn Sorcerer - 4UR
    Artifact Creature - Minotaur Wizard
1UR: Return Etherium-Horn Sorcerer to its owner's hand.
    Cascade
    3/6

    Maelstrom Wanderer - 5URG
    Legendary Creature - Elemental
    Creatures you control have haste.
    Cascade, cascade
    7/5

The latter is the most interesting since it causes Hypergenesis to be cast twice, although at 8 mana I doubt it'll much matter, but also is damn fun to drop off the Hypergenesis itself since you can give yourself hasty Blightsteels and Emrakuls. The downside of shutting off including cards with CMC 7 to drop off of Hypergenesis/Eureka may cause a problem though.

Now that everything about Planechase is final, a third cascade card:

    Shardless Agent - 1GU
    Artifact Creature - Human Rogue
    Cascade
    2/2

Who'd have ever expected another three-drop Cascade spell to be printed?

I'd rather eat glass than spend 5 seconds putting thought into a deck like this.

I'd put money on this deck against any of the ones you've posted here any day of the week, iggy. While you're trying to use ninjitsu or buried alive for three squee's on turn 3, this deck is casting hypergenesis and dumping so much fat it will make your eyes bleed. Also, it's not so much "thought" as searching for "cascade" on wizards' card database and then adding every really expensive creature you can think of.

I think all of those Cascaders might make it in... the 6-drop only if the deck already runs that 6-drop Wurm. Which maybe it should, idk.
The Pearled Unicorn is a total beast! I want to play it in a million decks! The only good thing about Fattie Mc-Double Cascader is the haste - makes it better than that trashy 4-drop from Alara block. I don't see him ever being cast for Cascade, but he's perfectly cromulent as another dude to cheat in and just win. Better than Akroma's Memorial all day long.

Seems good. Do you really need Eureka in this kind of deck? Doesn't another Cascade effect essentially do the same, for far less cash? And I wonder how useful City of Traitors/ Ancient Tomb is for you, considering all Cascade cards are double color. I guess you play it, so you know what you want to draw.
A few of the fatties feel like they could be replaced somehow.Like that 4/7 white guy with Swords to Plowshares. I think there's that Eldrazi that "steals" permanents if your opponent sac'ed them, and it probably has some sort of Annihilator on it, too. Don't remember what it's called. I think you should throw in Leviathan and/or Polar Kraken just because they're awesome.
