Does anyone have experience with dark depths in 5 color? Is it viable as an addional win condition for a combo or control deck?

Possibly (I say that because I don't think it is fair to rule anything out) but highly unlikely. I mean, we have access to the best removal and land destruction spells in the game, such as:

    Swords to Plowshares
    Path to Exile
    Strip Mine
    Wasteland

And lest I forget deterrents such as:

    Kor Haven
    Maze of Ith

Or even cards that don't see quite a bit of play but are fantastic, such as:

    Repulse
    Treachery

And yeah, so I guess that pretty much defeats the combo in every way possible. Dark Depths suffers from the same dilemma as Worldgorger (in my opinion); any exiling (or in Dragon's case, removal) of the main threat eliminates the combo entirely.

Not to mention unlike worldgorger, which fits nicely into a control/reanimator shell that has other uses beyond just the combo, Playing dark depths and vampire hexmage are just BAD. What kind of decks want to run land that doesn't do anything and 2/1 first strike creatures for BB?

Damn... I wasted bandwidth. I should have just stuck with "no."

Ha, agreed. Thopter/Sword - much like Worldgorger - is a viable secondary option as well.
